80 Years of Independence – Returning to Work and Time with Family

This week we enjoyed a three-day holiday for Independence Day.
Everyone in the factory seemed to spend it in their own way: some went back to their hometowns, some traveled, and some simply stayed at home to rest. Sadly, one colleague even had to cut their trip short to attend a relative’s funeral.

When the break ended, the factory came alive again. Everyone brought back souvenirs to share, creating a cheerful and lively atmosphere as we returned to work.

For me personally, I took a motorbike ride with my son, going a little further than usual to Binh Duong Province. Although it is now officially part of Ho Chi Minh City, we found that the familiar, unchanged atmosphere of the past still remained.

Meanwhile, in Hanoi, an even larger military parade was held for the 80th Independence anniversary—much bigger than the Liberation Day parade in Ho Chi Minh City. I watched the broadcast on TV, but of course it didn’t carry the same energy as being there in person. The presence of military equipment in the parade might have contributed to a different atmosphere compared to Ho Chi Minh City.

This year also marks 80 years since the end of World War II. Each country will commemorate it in its own way, but I want to first express gratitude for living in a place where peace can be felt. And above all, I sincerely hope that those still suffering in war will find peace as soon as possible.
